Blogs : A blog (a contraction of the term "Web log") is a Website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

Groups : In the social sciences a social group can be defined as two or more humans who interact with one another, share similar characteristics and collectively have a sense of unity. By this definition, a society can be viewed as a large group, though most social groups are considerably smaller.

Links : Link Building is the process of creating inbound links to ones own website. This can be done by reciprocal links, being listed in e-zines, newsletters, directories, search engines, etc. Link building is one of the best ways to make your site popular. There are few types of linking one of which is reciprocal links.

Photos : This is the publishing or transfer of a user's digital photos online, thus enabling the user to share them with others (publicly or privately).. This function is provided through both websites and applications that facilitate the upload and display of images. The term can also be loosely applied to the use of online photo galleries that are set up and managed by individual users, including photoblogs. Sharing means that other users can view but not necessarily download the photos, users being able to select different copyright options.

By mid-2006 there were tens of millions of video clips available online, with new websites springing up focusing entirely on offering free video clips to users and many established and corporate sites adding video clip content to their websites. Whereas most of this content is non-exclusive and available on competing sites, some companies produce all their own videos and do not rely on the work of outside companies or amateurs.

Forums : Online forums, are sometimes referred to as message boards , web forums or chat rooms provide a space for online debate and discussion. The discussions on forums are usually organised is 'threads', that is responses to an initial message are displayed sequentially.

Events : There are a number of names for online events including Webinars, Webcasts, Web Conferencing and Web Seminars. Online events are being used in greater numbers by organisations wanting to achieve affective communications with their clients, customers, members or prospects. An increasingly popular approach is through webinars and webcasts - presentations, lectures, workshops or seminars which are transmitted over the internet as online events. Some companies have recognised that online events are a viable and effective alternative to large scale events which benefit businesses and participants alike. Their interactive nature enables people to give, receive and discuss information in real time, while saving money on venues, catering and travel arrangements. Online events allow organisations to bring together a number of people from different areas of the world to communicate as one. Another major benefit of online events is the ability to record them and keep the recording as a piece of media to re-use.
